Eating or drinking Pomegranate juice can actually help prevent and reduce some types of breast cancer. Through a study, found that Pomegranate fruit contains phytochemicals called ellagitannin in large quantities. The content is able to reduce the progression of breast cancer cells that are responsive to estrogen.

"These phytochemicals that prevent production of estrogen reduces the proliferation of breast cancer cells and tumors that respond to estrogen," says researcher Shiuan Chen, PhD, director of the division of Tumor Cell Biology and the Breast Cancer Research Program at City of Hope in Duarte, California.

According to these researchers, ellagitannin in Pomegranate works by blocking aromatase, a key enzyme the body uses to produce estrogen, and has a key role in the development of breast cancer.

Pomegranates began ogled by researchers and academics of high antioxidant content. Even trusted also can help prevent heart disease over the abortion. However, this still early studies of the effects of aromatase and breast cancer growth

Still further research is needed to really determine that consume the products produced by Pomegranate can provide the same happy effects in humans as the result of the research.

"Further studies on individual components and combinations of chemicals are still needed to understand the potential risks of using  Pomegranate juice or other substances as the prevention of cancer," said Powel Brown, MD, PhD, head of research department of cancer prevention at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. However, it could not hurt to start consuming Pomegranates to help prevent the possibility of developing breast cancer or other cancers. Moreover, antioxidant content can help health care, right?
